Rehabilitation

As a chiropractic rehabilitation specialists I utilize an "active" treatment approach to improve the quality of life for my patients.

I do not only rely on passive treatment such as spinal manipulation (often called "adjustments"), ultrasound, myofascial release, etc., as the only means to improve your health.

I also blend advice, activity modification and exercise with passive treatment in the care of my patients.

This is termed the "active approach" to the treatment of musculoskeletal pain of which the most common condition is low back pain.

Experience the Active Approach

The "active approach" is a truly rehabilitative approach. It decreases pain and restores or improves function.

Restoring function means restoring or improving your activities of daily living. Helping you do to do the things you want to do in your life, be it taking a walk, bowling or golfing.

The goal of passive care such as spinal manipulation is to decrease pain and improve mobility.

With reduced pain and improved mobility achieved, I then implement the active care tactics of advice, activity modification and exercise instruction as appropriate, to improve function.

When appropriate, supervised exercise is available. This rehabilitative approach empowers patients, so they can begin to self-manage their condition and not become reliant on ongoing passive treatment.
